Vacancy Announcement

The World Bank is seeking a candidate for a position in the Baku Country Office, working on infrastructure sector projects.  We are seeking a dynamic individual who has Masters Degree preferably in engineering, or economics and finance; strong demonstrated analytical skills; is proactive and committed to World Bank objectives; has strong interpersonal and communication skills for working in an international organization. Experience in the infrastructure and/or utilities sector and good knowledge of public sector are advantages. Proficiency in Azerbaijani and English and very good practical knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are essential.

 

The objective and scope of the assignment include supporting Bank operations in the infrastructure sector and providing substantive operational, research, statistical and other analytic support to Project Teams through:

 

o Participating as a member of Bank missions, conducting contacts with various project stakeholders.

 

o Carrying out research and analytical tasks on a wide range of operational, country and sector issues.

 

o   Field visits to the infrastructure projects financed by the WB

 

o Substantive operational inputs on country program/sector and project issues.

 

o Preparing various operational, country and sector materials in Azeri and English.

 

o Providing other technical input as needed.
