opens a vacancy for a part-time position of
Short Term Temporary/Translation Services Coordinator
Responsibilities
-
Coordinating translation/interpretation services and ensuring timely delivery of outsourced translations;

Maintaining an evaluated roster of freelance translators and interpreters;
Keeping track of translation jobs;

Processing vendor invoices in the vendor payment module;
-
Performing preparatory work on source and target translation material;
-
Proofreading selected translated texts against the original source to ensure completeness, accuracy, consistency, stylistic correctness, and conformity with Bank terminology and Bank editorial and formatting standards;

Coordinating the translation process of documents that have to be split among several translators to ensure consistency of style and terminology in the final product;

Handling small translations of urgent/confidential documents and correspondence;

Responding to client complaints on a timely basis and determining corrective action necessary to prevent recurrences.
Qualifications and experience:
-
University degree in Translation or relevant discipline (e.g. economics, finance, law, health, etc.)

Excellent command of selected target languages, grammar, spelling, and editorial standards and usage.

High scores at the English Grammar test at time of recruitment.

Knowledge of translation and associated processes from job assessment to distribution of finished products.

Proficiency in the use of relevant computer software necessary to conduct preparatory work on client files.

Effective verbal and oral communication skills.

Ability to identify and resolve production problems.

Ability to work proactively in high pressure, fast-paced environment.
