Iftikhar Khalil



iMian Iftikhar KHALIL, Lead Energy Specialist, joined the Bank in 1998. He has worked as Program Team Leader for the energy sector in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo covering sector strategies, sector restructuring, power rehabilitation, and district heating projects. He has also worked as Program Team Leader for the energy sector in Lithuania. Before joining the Bank, he assisted the Government of Pakistan in development of various energy policy frameworks and was Managing Director and President of NESPAK, a large international engineering consultancy organization with operations in twenty countries.
Current Work Program:
Energy sector strategy and reform, power projects.
Strengths:
Sector review, planning and management of large energy and infrastructure projects, project feasibility studies, corporate financial analysis, environmental assessment and procurement.
Education:
M.Eng., University of California, Berkeley, 1970.
Languages:
(other than English): Urdu, Punjabi (native).
