Helmut Schreiber


hHelmut SCHREIBER, Lead Environmental Economist, joined the Bank in 1991. He has been working in the environment area until June 1999 and has joined ECSEG in July 1999. In the Environment Department, he worked on environment projects with a focus on energy and air pollution issues and on environmental administration. Before joining the Bank, he worked on environment and energy related projects as well as public finance projects at the Institute for European Environmental Policy in Bonn and London, the Science Center Berlin, the Center for International Studies of the University of Pittsburgh, the Polish Academy of Sciences in Katowice, and the Free University of Berlin.
Current Work Program: He is task-managing several energy-environment projects and studies in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Russia, Belarus, the Ukraine and Kazakhstan. He is also assisting task managers in preparing greenhouse gas reduction components of their projects.
Since July 2005, Helmut Schreiber is based in Moscow and assisting the Russian Government and Russian companies in developing carbon finance projects.
