
Michel Audigé, Lead Transport Specialist, joined the Bank in 1991 as Port Operations Specialist in the Africa region. He joined the Europe and Central Asia Region in 2002 as Lead Transport Specialist and he is currently a Program Team Leader for Poland, Turkey, Ukraine, and Russia. His area of expertise includes road management and safety, railway restructuring and ports management and operations; Mr. Audige has practical experience in public/private partnerships in ports (concessions) and transport infrastructure (PPPI/BOT); trade and transport facilitation procedures; and project management. He is skilled in Knowledge Management and information dissemination on recent developments in the transport sector, as well as in innovative World Bank lending new schemes (Sectorwide Approach projects, or SWAp, and reimbursable Technical Assistance). Mr. Audigé's experience in the Bank includes project identification, engineering design, appraisal and implementation, procurement issues (as Procurement Accredited Staff), Trust Funds management, risk analysis tools, organization of international seminars and workshops, trade and transport facilitation programs as well as dealing with environmental issues, including emergency recovery and disaster management.
Other experience: Direct experience in road maintenance and rehabilitation works, management of ports, airport and water sanitation networks, dredging works, coastal defense, hydrographic surveys, navigation aids and marine environment.
Education: Degree in Civil Engineering from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts & Chaussées (ENPC, Paris) and a Master of Science in Transport Management and Logistics (Paris IX, Dauphine). He is presently Ingénieur en chef des Ponts & Chaussées.
