
Gerald OLLIVIER, Transport Specialist, joined the World Bank in 1995. Mr. Ollivier's experience in the Bank includes identification, appraisal, and implementation of transport projects (highway, port) and of trade and transport facilitation projects, knowledge management (distance learning/websites), economic and financial analysis, policy dialogue in transport and in trade and transport facilitation, organization of international seminars and workshops, and support to public-private dialogue for trade facilitation and for infrastructure development. From 1995 to 1998, he participated in highway projects in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, in a port project in Lithuania (Klaipeda), in a transport sector review for Ukraine, and in transport projects in Georgia. From 1999 to 2003, he focused on logistic, trade and transport facilitation in Southeast Europe and in the Caucasus. He was in particular Task Team Leader of the Trade and Transport Facilitation in Southeast Europe (TTFSE) projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria and Croatia. Presently he is Task Team Leader for the TTFSE project in Serbia and Montenegro, for the Rail Trade and Transport Facilitation Project in Azerbaijan, for the Rijeka Gateway Project (port/roads/port-city interface) in Croatia and for the Trade and Transport Integration (corridor development/port/PPP) in Croatia. Mr. Ollivier contributed to the WB Trade Logistics Group on global initiatives, such as the Global Facilitation Partnership for Transportation and Trade, the preparation of GFP dissemination notes and the development of distance learning programs for logistics operators and supply chain management specialists.
Strengths: Development and management of all aspects of project preparation/supervision; use/design of Excel models allowing for risk simulation (Montecarlo) and scenario testing to assist decision-making in infrastructure projects; trade and transport facilitation; financial analysis of transport infrastructure projects; website/knowledge management/partnership development.
Education: Degree in Management of Civil Work Projects (Ecole Nationale des Travaux Publics de l'Etat) (European equivalence to M.Sc.); Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder (Association for Investment Management and Research).
