Andreas Rohde



arAndreas ROHDE, Sanitary Engineer, joined the Bank in 1996 as a participant of the Staff Exchange Program between the Bank and the Private Sector. In 1999 he became regular staff. Before joining the Bank he worked in the Water Supply and Sanitation Department of Lahmeyer International, one of Germany's largest consulting companies. There he worked on water projects in Germany, Greece, Lebanon, and Turkey. After joining the Bank's Europe and Central Asia region he worked on water projects in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland and Turkey. Since 1999 he has managed the Bank's water portfolio in Albania, which includes the assistance in the preparation of the country's Urban and Rural Water Strategy and the preparation of a management contract for four medium sized cities.
Current Work Program: Program Team Leader for the water sector in Albania and member of the water team for Serbia and Montenegro.
Strengths: Project design and implementation, engineering in water supply and sanitation; rural and urban water sector strategy, private sector participation and environmental impact assessment in the water sector
Education: Master Degree in Biology (University of Karlsruhe, Germany) and Doctor Degree in Civil Engineering (University of Karlsruhe, Germany)
