Martha Lawrence

.Martha B. Lawrence, Senior Transport Specialist in Europe and Central Asia region, with extensive experience in transport regulation and rail and transit finance. She authored the World Bank's restructuring study of the railways in the Western Balkans and is currently engaged in rail, road safety, and urban transport projects in Turkey, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Before joining the World Bank, Ms. Lawrence was a Managing Director of Harral Winner Thompson Sharp Lawrence, Inc. She has developed business and financing plans for numerous railway restructurings, public-private partnership arrangements and concessions, including for railways in Australia, Brazil, Peru, Honduras, Armenia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Ms. Lawrence has advised private sector investors on over US$8 billion in structured lease financing of transit rolling stock and infrastructure.
