Husam Beides, Senior Power Engineer. Before joining the World Bank in 2004, he worked as an Account Manager responsible for the transmission services at Pace Global Energy Services, Fairfax, U.S.A, as a Project Associate with Sargent & Lundy in Chicago, and as a Senior Power Applications Analyst with Landis and Gyr Energy Management Systems in San Jose, U.S.A. His industry background includes extensive experience in power projects that involve transmission interconnection, feasibility, accessibility and impact studies as well as power market assessment. He has worked on projects that involved site selections, transmission interconnection and market evaluation for new energy projects. Mr. Beides also worked on projects that involved designing, developing, and evaluating Energy Management Systems (EMS) for the electric utilities control centers. Before joining the World Bank, he had worked on energy projects in the United States, India, Iceland, South Africa, and Russia.
