Raghuveer Sharma, Lead Financial Analyst, has been with the World Bank since 1983. Prior to his current assignment, he spent more than two years with ABB, a Europe-based global energy company, and was responsible for Structured Finance and Corporate Strategy functions. Prior to joining the World Bank, Raghu worked for a private conglomerate in India for five years. During his tenure in the Bank, he has worked in the electricity, petroleum, telecommunications, transport, and environmental sectors. His focus in the last decade has been sector reforms, privatization, and enabling private sector project finance deals. More recently, he has been successful in promoting private sector participation in the power sector through public-private partnership approaches. His geographical experience covers South Asia, East Asia, Europe, CIS and Central Asia, and the Middle East.
Current Work Program: Team leader for Central Asia energy programs.
Education: Degree in electrical engineering (Bangalore University); a Post-Graduate Diploma in International Trade (Indian Institute Of Foreign Trade); M.B.A. in Finance (George Washington University, USA).
