WASHINGTON, April 7, 2011 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project:  IDA Credit: US$93 Million Equivalent Terms: Maturity = 35 years; Grace = 10 years Project ID: P113349  Project Description:  The Health System Improvement Project for Uzbekistan aims to support the Government of Uzbekistan in its efforts to modernize the health care delivery system in order to provide more accessible quality and sustainable health services to the population; especially in rural areas. This will be done by expanding access to quality primary health care services; improving the quality, access to and financial sustainability of selected rural hospitals (rayons); and laying the groundwork for effective monitoring and control of non-communicable diseases.
