First Regional Conference on Community Empowerment Network (CEN)

The overall emphasis of this conference is to focus on approaches which the Community Empowerment Network (CEN) can take to achieve its primary objective: enhanced capacity of communities to effectively design, implement, and monitor community-based projects. Examples will be drawn from the CEN National Networks to demonstrate approaches which can be used elsewhere and ways in which these approaches can be improved. The event follows the Knowledge Forum on May 22, 2003 in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic.

The conference is organized by the Poverty Program team, jointly with-the Social Development Group in ECA, Central Asia Regional Office, Community Empowerment and Social Inclusion team and Global Knowledge and Learning team in WBI.
