Community Foundations

The Bank continued its ongoing support for promoting the Community Foundations model in ECA.  Preparatory work for a pilot Community Foundations project within the Moldova Social Investment Fund (MSIF) progressed in FY05 by organizing study trips of the MSIF management team and a group of CSO leaders to community foundations in Poland and Slovakia, and by preparation of an Operational Manual for community foundations in Moldova. The concept of community foundations was presented at the ECANET conference of Social Investment Funds in Macedonia as well as at the ECA CSO Forum in Slovakia.  Possibilities for additional pilot CF projects were also explored in Croatia, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Ukraine.
