Youth Inclusion and Empowerment in South Eastern Europe Study
Focusing on youth inclusion and empowerment was identified by the World Bank in 2000 as a key component of the regional strategy for South Eastern Europe (SEE).

Post Conflict Grant for Croatia / Refugee Return and Regional Development ( 2nd Phase)
The World Bank approved a grant of US$ 809,988 to finance the second phase of the Refugee Return and Regional Development program in Croatia, in preparation for the larger Social and Economic Recovery Project.

Bosnia and Herzegovina
The discussion draft of the "Local Level Institutions and Social Capital Study" has been finalized. A shorter version has also been translated into Bosnian. A Consultation Workshop is being planned for November 2002 in Sarajevo, where government as well as nongovernment organizations, international organizations, civil society associations, and academia representatives will discuss the main findings of the study.

Rome- Italy
Support for young people in South Eastern Europe was the theme of a joint UNICEF-World Bank conference in Rome. The May 29-31 event,Youth in South Eastern Europe: Policy for Participation, Empowerment and Social Inclusion,  was supported by the Italian Development Cooperation and focused on youth in eight countries.

Regional Applied Social Research and Social Policy Network The Italian Development Cooperation announced approval of a financial contribution of US$ 1,000,000 for the Regional Applied Social Research and Social Policy Network.
