Lebanon. A $53.1 million equivalent International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loan approved on February 18 will finance costs to build and repair water supply and waste water services; to operate, maintain and train government staff to use mechanical and electrical equipment; and support technical assistance to establish sector institutions, and monitor, engineer and supervise project activities. The project seeks to improve sanitary and environmental conditions in Kesrouan, Saida and Sour, three major coastal cities. Lithuania. A $3.7 million equivalent IBRD loan approved on February 18 will support technical assistance and training for the Ministry of Social Security and Labor and help build and equip community multi-service centers (serving the elderly, families with children, battered women and the disabled); and education centers for disabled children. Mexico.
