Georgia: First East - West Highway Improvement Project

 

WASHINGTON, December 5, 2006 - The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors:

 

IDA GRANT: US$19 million

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project will contribute to the gradual reduction of road transport costs and improve ease of transit, access and safety along the central part of Georgia’s East-West corridor. It will also improve the management of the roadwork by strengthening the capacity of the government.
