Youth Voices Group - Call for Applicants

Call for applications for the Youth Voices Group

The World Bank would like to invite young people (15-25) active in youth non-governmental organizations to submit applications for the Kosovo Youth Voice Group (YVG). The Youth Voice initiative is part of the World Bank’s larger effort to engage in a systematic dialogue with young people, either as individuals or as youth groups, so as to include their perspectives and needs in the development process. This initiative started in Lima, Peru in 2002 and since 2004 has had great success across Europe and Central Asia region.

The YVG in Kosovo will include young men and women from different country regions, from rural and urban areas, from different ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds, and youth with disabilities who want to participate in the implementation of different WB projects, especially those specifically targeting youth. The YVG will be involved in the implementation of different WB projects, especially those that target the youth. They conduct evaluations, researches and analysis. They provide information and feedback from young people to the WB and vice versa. YVG members are active and participate in regional and international conferences.

The objective of the YVG is to allow young people to bring to the World Bank fresh ideas and recommendations for youth programs and policies that are informed by their experiences, perspectives and priorities. The YVG will include a diverse group of participants and it will look at World Bank programs in Kosovo to ensure that youth issues are adequately taken into consideration.

Initially, the Youth Voice members will be active until June 30, 2008, with the possibility for project extension.
