WASHINGTON, May 15, 2003—The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board:
CREDIT AMOUNT: IDA—US$ 20.0 million
TERMS: Grace period = 10 years; Maturity = 40 years
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The main objective of the project is to support the Government’s program to strengthen the effectiveness of the State. It has two complementary objectives: to improve the transparency and responsiveness of the public sector and enhance the ability of external stakeholders to hold it accountable; and to increase efficiency, effectiveness and accountability within the public sector.
