Kyrgyz Republic: Small Towns Infrastructure and Capacity Building Project

WASHINGTON - The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board:

CREDIT AMOUNT: US $12 million

TERMS: Grace period = 10 years; Maturity = 40 years

GRANT AMOUNT: US $3 million
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The main objective of this project is to improve the availability, quality and efficiency of local infrastructure services for the population of small towns in the Kyrgyz Republic. It will support the ongoing administrative reform, decentralization, and development of local government.  The funds will also finance the rehabilitation and/or repair of basic infrastructure and utility service installations and equipment, and help local governments manage infrastructure services more effectively.
