What is ESW? In the Bank's terminology, ESW comprises formal and informal studies of critical issues as well as technical assistance, either at the country level or for specific sectors. Key ESW categories include: country diagnostic reports, country advisory reports, regional reports, sector assessments and other products such as policy and technical notes. Examples include the Bank's regular economic reports for Russia, a model to calculate the economic cost of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, assessments of labor and financial markets, and studies and technical assistance to support civil service and public administration reforms. |  | "Flagship" Publications Anual Report The Annual Report, which covers financial year (a period from July 1 to June 30 of the next year), is prepared by the Executive Directors of both the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA) in accordance with the respective by-laws of the two institutions. President of the IBRD and IDA, and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, submittes the Annual Report, together with the accompanying administrative budgets and audited financial statements, to the Board of Governors. World Development Report A World Development Report is one of the most well-known annual publications. It offers detailed analysis of development issues. Each edition comprises of social and economic topics of development, as well as environment problems review. This series was developed with a 10-year cycle, which means that every ten years each topic is reviewed and revised by the Bank's experts. World Development Indicators The World Development Indicators (WDI) is the World Bank's premier annual compilation of data about development. WDI includes approx. 800 indicators in about 80-90 tables, organized in 6 sections: World View, People, Environment, Economy, States and Markets, and Global Links. The tables cover almost all world economies and 14 country groups - with basic indicators for a further 55 economies. Each WDI print edition offers the current year overview of reliable data from the past few years. Global Development Finance Global Development Finance is the World Bank’s annual review of recent trends in and prospects for financial flows to developing countries. It also contains the Bank's projections of the global outlook in light of current global geopolitical uncertainties. It includes a comprehensive set of tables with statistical data that report debt under the World Bank Debtor Reporting System, as well as summary data for regions and income groups. Global Economic Prospects Global Economic Prospects outlines steps that can be adopted by rich and poor countries to increase growth rates and accelerate poverty reduction. |
