"The World Bank is keen on bringing experts like you together to exchange knowledge on firefighting. - said
Pedro Alba. -
Too often lessons learned from major disasters are not shared with the international community and valuable insights are lost. Today and tomorrow, we will share our experiences, draw similarities, and bring back ways we can improve our own firefighting systems in our home countries."The second day of the Conference was recorded by the Plenary Session. The majority of the presentations were devoted to the analysis of the Russian wildfires of the year 2010, in particular, to the timeliness and effectiveness of international support granted to Russia.
Draft of the “Action Plan Establishing International Multilateral Mechanism to Overcome Anthropogenic and Natural Disasters” was submitted for the Conference participants’ consideration.
During the last day of the Conference, the Declaration aimed at creating the framework for an international mechanism for emergency humanitarian response at the global level was adopted by a majority vote.
