Moscow, April 4-5, 2011 - A workshop on “Financial Literacy and Financial Consumer Protection” was held in the premises of World Bank's Office in Moscow. The workshop, which was organized by the World Bank, brought together different stakeholders involved in the work of the education and finance sectors of Russia. The workshop helped to raise awareness among the participants about the new Financial Education and Financial Literacy Project, introduced the topic of improvement in financial literacy, as well as Project's objectives, goals, and implementation procedures.

The presentations were followed by discussion on capability concepts, surveys and the best practices in the area of financial literacy, financial education and financial consumer protection. Participants have learned about the Project's parameters, implementation mechanisms and management schemes, and implementation of programs in the pilot regions.
