Five day workshop “Procurement under World Bank-financed Projects” was held on November 15-19, 2010 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Around 200 representatives from Moldova, Belarus and Ukraine attended the  training. The workshop is designed as targeted and tailored training programs for three groups of participants, i.e. project implementing units staff, senior government officials (evaluation committee members) and private sector representatives. One day was solely dedicated to the business community representatives (companies that participate or plan to participate in bidding for contract under Bank-financed projects).

The objective was to enable the participants to understand and apply Bank procurement policies, guidelines and key concepts of standard bidding and contract documents thus increase their capasity to manage procurement process under the Bank-funded projects efficiently.

The workshop syllabus included the procurement of works, goods and services through presentations and case studies, as well as clarifications of the roles and responsibilities in procurement under Bank-financed projects.
