Moving forward
Over the last five years Latin America grew at an average of 5% annually, which played an important role in reducing poverty and improving development indicators in the region. According to World Bank calculations, 52 million people came out of poverty between 2002-2007, while the region boasted the highest life expectancy and per capita income rates among developing nations.
