The World Bank (WB) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) will jointly host the II Technical Forum on Involuntary Resettlement in Latin America and the Caribbean in Bogota, Colombia on May 25th to 27th, 2005. This three-day forum is a follow-up to the 2002 Technical Forum in Salvador Bahia, Brazil, and it will bring together representatives from governments, academia, non-governmental organizations, private firms and WB and IDB task team members, to share specific resettlement experiences and identify innovative practices, methodologies, and tools that could be used to improve the design and implementation of resettlement operations in the region. The topics to be analyzed during the Forum are the result of multiple consutations with resettlement practitioners throughout the region. Related previous activities:
