                          Meet the World Bank Director for the Andean Countries

Susan Goldmark was appointed Country Director for Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela in July 2011.
 
Ms. Susan Goldmark, a United States national, joined the World Bank in 1988 as a Private Sector Development Specialist in the Africa region., She has since held several positions, including Sector Manager for the Energy, Private Sector Development and Finance clusters in the Latin-American and Caribbean region. She has been a key member of the management team, promoting carbon finance activities throughout the World Bank.
 
Ms. Goldmark held the position of Country Director for Nepal from 2007 to 2011, a country to which she was returning after many years since she studied and worked there when she was younger.

Before joining the World Bank, Ms. Goldmark worked in a non-governmental agency and as director of a private consulting firm specializing in enterprise development issues in developing countries.
 
Goldmark holds a Master´s degree from Princeton University in Development Economics and a Bachelor´s degree in South Asian Economics and History from Carleton College.

                           Meet the World Bank Country Manager for Bolivia

Faris Hadad-Zervos, who is of Mexican, Greek and Lebanese origin, joined the World Bank in 1996 as a representative in the Middle East. He has also worked in Washington as manager of one of the Bank's Operational and Services Policy departments (OPCS being the English acronym).

Hadad-Zervos is one of the top officials of this multilateral organization who has most contributed to literature and articles regarding the impact of war on several Arab economies. His contributions have received international recognition.

Hadad-Zervos has a Master´s degree in Economics from George Mason University and another one in Finance from George Washington University.

In his new position as Country Manager for Bolivia, Hadad-Zervos will work for the effective implementation of the country´s  Project portfolio , he will continue to strengthen the relationship between the Bank and the Bolivian authorities and will continue to encourage the World Bank´s proactive participation within the international donor community.
