Apart from investing through financial resources and technical assistance, the World Bank is transforming itself into a "Knowledge Bank." This has led to the establishment of the Public Information Centers, whose role is to help the public access print or online information.
The DR Public Information Center (CIDD) was opened in 2005 in collaboration with the Pontifical Catholic University Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the World Bank and it is located at the PUCMM’s Library. It holds all publications and reports by the Bank and JICA projects in the DR. Via the CIDD visitors also have free access to important statistical data such as World Development Indicators and Global Development Finance indicators.
