This bookfocuses on the effect of education reforms that alter teacher incentives to achieve teaching quality and to enhance student learning. The goals of our book are, first, to broaden and deepen our conception of how education reforms affect teachers in Latin America and, second, to shed light on how reforms can be designed and implemented to maximize their beneficial effects on teaching and learning.
