Each year the World Bank lends for projects that help strengthen the financial sector of our clients in the LCR region. One of the main activities of the Financial Sector Group is to prepare financial sector projects, in close collaboration with government authorities and other stakeholders in the countries. Three main types of products are currently offered for financial sector operations: development policy loans, technical assistance loans as well as guarantees. Projects are conceived and supervised according to a well documented project-cycle. Documents produced as part of the project-cycle are valuable sources of information for interested stakeholders wanting to keep abreast of the work the Bank is financing and for businesses wishing to participate in Bank-financed projects. Useful public documents include: the Project Appraisal Document (PAD) that presents all the information the Bank Board needs to approve Bank financing of the project proposal; the Program Document (PGD) that describes adjustment lending operations and sets out the Bank's appraisal and assessment of the feasibility and justification for the program; the Implementation Completion Report (ICR) that reviews the results and assesses an operation on completion of each loan financed by the Bank.
