International Donors Conference on Haiti

Begins:   Jul 19, 2004
Ends:   Jul 20, 2004

In May and June 2004, the Haitian government led the preparation of a needs assessment (Interim Cooperation Framework, CCI/ICF) with the assistance of the international community, national and international experts, and members of civil society. The CCI/ICF identified priority interventions and related financing needs to support the country's economic, social and political recovery over the next two years. The results of the CCI/ICF will be presented by the Haitian Government and discussed by participants at the International Donors Conference on Haiti on July 19 and 20.

On July 20, there will be a Ministerial-level pledging conference in support of the Haitian Government's recovery program. This will be preceded on July 19 by technical discussions, during which ministers and representatives of the Government of Haiti, donors, international and regional organizations and civil society representatives will have an opportunity to discuss the results of the CCI/ICF.

The Conference will be co-hosted by the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the United Nations, and the European Commission—the four institutions that coordinated the international community's support to the Government of Haiti for the preparation of the CCI/ICF.
