Emphasizes the following pertinent goals for the education sector: (i) improving the quality and efficiency of education at all levels; (ii) supporting decentralization and community participation in education management; (iii) improving teachers’ performance and supporting programs to improve their capacities; and (iv) promoting PROHECO and intercultural and bilingual education.

Water and Sanitation Program Improve the sustainability, efficiency and reliability of Honduras’s water supply and sanitation (WSS) services in the participating municipalities through implementing the Strategic Plan to Modernize the WSS Sector (PEMAPS) by strengthening municipal service providers, support good governance in WSS services, reinforce the national sector actors (ERSAPS, CONASA, SANAA), and reduce non-revenue water in selected areas of Tegucigalpa.

Nutrition and Social Protection Project Improve Honduras’ social safety net for children and youth. This would be achieved by (i) improving nutritional and basic health status of young children through and expanding the successful AIN-C program, and (ii) increasing employment availability of disadvantaged youth through piloting the first employment program.

Financial Sector Technical Assistance Credit Support the development of the institutional capacity of the Comision Nacional de Bancos y Seguros (CNBS) and the Banco Central de Honduras (BCH) to address vulnerabilities of the Honduran financial system. Judicial Branch Modernization Support implementation of the Judicial Branch Modernization Plan 2004-2009.
