CIPRecognizing the importance in the access of Public Information for poverty reduction and sustainable development, the World Bank has created the Public Information Centers (PIC) with the ultimate goals of sharing its knowledge in the topics of International Development and the empowerment of society with information resources.

Mexico’s Public Information Center is an access point to the information produced by the World Bank Offices in Mexico. It also reflects the activities of the Bank at the international level.

Its main objective is to make information available to the public and, to disseminate its work to the widest possible audience in the country. This is done to promote the dialogue and feedback of civil society, academia, private sector and other social actors interested in the topics of International Development and Poverty Reduction.

Information of Federal governmental projects that receive financing in the country and general activities of the Bank.

Books, Reports and Publications Free Consultation and the option for its partial reproduction.

Access to the Bank’s Online Collection of over 15,000 documents, reports, and operational documents.

CD-ROMs Collection with statistical data on the topics of International Development: poverty, education, health, housing to mention some of them.

Reading Room and home borrowing of publications.

Free –but limited – distribution of some of the Bank’s publications.

Assistance with the access to other International Development Internet site.

Knowledge Sharing Activities

The Public Information Center also is a platform diffusion of knowledge in the development process. mong its initiatives are:

  • Organization of Seminars, Workshops, Discussions and Talks about the activities of the World Bank.
  • Participation in Forums and Exhibitions related to the topics of International Development and/or Dissemination of Information.
  • Information about participation and financing opportunities available for Civil Society Organizations and to the Private Sector. (The International Finance Corporation is the entity in the World Bank Group in charge of this sector).
  • General Information about Postgraduate Scholarships, Employment Opportunities and Internships.
