The Transport & Socal Responsibility Thematic Group will present a brief overview of World Bank transport operations that seek to mitigate HIV/AIDS, most of which have focused on roads.  Going beyond roads, the session will examine the evidence for other transport sub-sectors, such as the maritime industry, and will present an innovative program and resources developed for seafarers.  The session will also discuss experience from the Middle East and North Africa region with an intervention designed for the trucking industry within the Djibouti national HIV/AIDS response and how this experience and similar interventions can be applied in other regions of the world.
