in collaboration with
World Bank PRMGE and Inclusive Security: Women Waging Peace
15-19 May 2005  -   Amman Intercontinental Hotel  -  Amman, Jordan

In line with the post-conflict reconstruction development program, Iraq requires capacity building in the area of gender mainstreaming in development projects and in economic analysis and policy.   This capacity building initiative was designed to help meet the need for improving capacity in gender and statistics, gender monitoring and evaluation and gender-responsive economic policy, through training, networking, and knowledge-sharing among gender focal points in ministries, NGOs, experts, and Bank staff, mainly from Iraq, but also from Jordan and West Bank and Gaza. The training was multi-sectoral and designed to enhance and compliment current Bank projects, as well as projects that are in the pipeline for 2005/2006.
