genderAlthough progress on gender indicators and gender equality in MNA has been recorded over the past few decades, the gender gap remains a challenge for the region. Significant advances have been made on social gender indicators (notably the fastest improvements on female education than any other region), while progress on gender empowerment indicators (such as on economic and political participation) have lagged behind.
