Overview

 Lebanon joined the World Bank in 1947. Since then, the focus of World Bank assistance  has been to foster sustainable economic growth and reduce poverty in the country. 

Loans and Grants

As of August 2006, the World Bank has financed 21 operations in the country for a total original commitment of US$1085.3 million.

The World Bank's portfolio, as of August 2006, in Lebanon comprises seven active investment projects.
