Country Water Assistance Strategy

Country water resource assistance strategies are important tools in the implementation of the Bank's Water Resources Sector Strategy. They describe how the Bank can help improve water resource management, and are linked to the Bank’s Country Assistance Strategies (CASs), Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers (PRSPs), and investments.

A central focus of these strategies is the political economy of change in water resource management, and a major product will be the specification of country-specific priorities for lending and non-lending activities. Country water resource assistance strategies are a priority in countries where water problems are serious and there is demand for Bank engagement.
