Afghanistan: Achieving Results in a Difficult Environment: When the Taliban fell in 2001, Afghanistan had some of the worst health indicators in the world. Today, despite continuing instability, health outcomes are vastly improved with more than 20 million out of 25 million Afghans receiving primary health care.
Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund (ARTF): The multilateral Fund was set up in May 2002 to provide support to Afghanistan. As of December 21, 2007, 28 donors have pledged US$2.4 billion.
