Harm Reduction 2008: IHRA’s 19th International Conference

Begins:   May 11, 2008 08:30
Ends:   May 15, 2008 18:00

The IHRA conferences are the key global forum for the dissemination of harm reduction ideas and practice. They are ‘must attend’ events for the people who help to promote and deliver harm reduction - including front-line workers, policy makers, politicians, civic leaders, heads of NGOs, people who use drugs and people living with HIV/AIDS, advocates, researchers, criminal justice personnel, journalists and religious leaders.

The conference offers a unique blend of science and research, policy debates and discussions, advocacy, and the dissemination of best practice. It is regularly attended by over 1,200 people from over 80 countries around the world and, as such, also provides an unrivalled opportunity for networking, satellite meetings and marketing.

For 2008, the conference will carry the theme "Towards a Global Approach’ and will be organised by IHRA and the Conference Consortium with the support of the Generalitat de Catalunya and Grup IGIA. The main language of the conference is English, but there will be simultaneous translation offered in many sessions for Spanish and French delegates (with other languages included if resources or sponsorship allow).
