The World Bank Group's activities in Europe aim at leveraging efforts to reduce poverty in developing countries through engaging in deeper dialogue with European governments, civil society, business, academia and the media.

External Affairs Europe (EXTEU) is the World Bank unit responsible for the day-to-day relations with 18 Western European countries as well as the European Union (EU) institutions and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). In addition, EXTEU manages outreach programs to several global constituencies: parliamentariansyouth & youth organizationsresearchers & academia; and the business community

EXTEU also collaborates closely with and provides services to other World Bank units operating in Western Europe, such as the World Bank Institute (WBI), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP), and the World Bank Treasury. EXTEU has offices in ParisBerlinBrussels, London, and Rome.
