Empowering youth as agents of change and advocates for development
External Affairs Europe (EXTEU) provides platforms for dialogue with various global constituencies with a specific interest in development issues, including youth and youth organizations.
In recent years, the World Bank has intensified its work with young people from both developed and developing countries, based on its conviction that young people represent a powerful force for change, and that they need to be empowered to participate actively in development work and decision-making.
EXTEU's Development Policy Dialogue Team plays a key role in the growing dialogue between the World Bank and youth and youth organizations worldwide through participation in the Youth, Development & Peace Network (YDP).
The YDP Network is an informal and inclusive network of youth organizations operating at the local, regional and global levels, focusing on development and poverty eradication. Convinced that youth are key agents for change, the YDP Network aims to create direct interaction among youth organizations, the World Bank and other partners, to facilitate active youth participation in projects, policy design and youth advocacy for development. This is achieved through knowledge sharing, capacity building, empowerment and resource mobilization.
