In the past two years, several Belgian academics have participated in the Annual Bank Conference for Development Economics – Europe (ABCDE). The ABCDE brings together an array of European academics, politicians, institutes, think tanks, students and journalists to foster the exchange of knowledge and understanding of development issues. The 2004 edition of this conference was held in Brussels on May 10-11. The latest 2006 edition took place in Tokyo, Japan on May 29-30, 2006.
