Activities regarding Luxembourg are coordinated by the Brussels Office. The World Bank Brussels Office aims to promote a shared development agenda between the World Bank Group and Luxembourg. To this end, it promotes dialogue and partnerships with central and regional government representatives, Members of Parliament, CSO and private sector representatives, academia and the media and foreign government representatives. The World Bank Brussels Office also liaises with the European Institutions, NATO and Belgium.

A key objective of the Brussels office is to build political and financial support for the institution and development in general, by promoting better understanding of the World Bank Group’s mission and activities. The office also seeks to increase opportunities for collaboration between Luxembourg and the World Bank Group through co-financing, Trust Funds and joint analytical work in sectors and regions of mutual interest.

Key activities regarding Luxembourg include:

  • Maintaining and enhancing the dialogue with all Luxembourg development partners;
  • Providing input to World Bank Management on Luxembourg development issues and policies;
  • Serving as an entry point to access World Bank experts and information;
  • Providing support during negotiations for IDA replenishments;
  • Responding to queries, including from media;
  • Disseminating World Bank data, information and reports about topics and regions of interest
  • Organizing and supporting conferences, seminars and other events on development-related topics.
