Information Services in Switzerland

Information sharing is essential for sustainable development. It stimulates the debate, broadens the understanding of development issues, and enhances transparency and accountability in the development process. To this end, the World Bank provides a variety of products and services described below. For all questions on publications and documents, on projects, and on the World Bank in general, you are welcome to contact the World Bank Public Information Services in Europe.

DOCUMENTS AND PUBLICATIONS ONLINE

The World Bank carries out abundant research in order to increase the understanding of development policies and programs. These documents and publications are accessible to the development community, as part of its knowledge-sharing program, directly and for free.

  • Click here to learn more about World Bank research and access major flagship reports.
  • Visit the ‘Documents & Reports’ database to download full-text documents and project reports http://www-wds.worldbank.org
  • You can also consult Bank documents and publications online from the Depository Library in Switzerland.
  • You may also search documents and statistics in a selection of useful databases through the World Bank Virtual Development InfoKiosk. Institutions interested in adding the InfoKiosk to their online library resources can contact the World Bank Public Information Services in Europe.

DEPOSITARY LIBRARIES

Research is also disseminated and accessible through a network of world depository libraries. Western European depository libraries are all information partners of the World Bank European Public Information Services; as such, the institutions collaborate closely to ensure appropriate information availability and sharing in the country.

In Switzerland, the depository library is located at the non-governmental organization Mandat International in Bellevue and grants free access to anyone who wishes to consult World Bank publications and data (print and online).
