The following is an illustration of the IFS section on Money and Banking Statistics. However, all countries do not follow this pattern. The coverage of the statistics differs among countries because every country tend to compile the set of monetary aggregates in which they find to be important. Thus, some countries compile financial balance sheets covering the entire financial sector, some balance sheets that cover the monetary authorities and the deposit money banks (the monetary survey) only, while others again compile data for the total banking sector (leaving insurance companies and pension funds etc out).
