Annex: Monetary Aggregates in LDB

All data in LDB are from the Monetary Survey, the consolidated balance sheets of the monetary authorities and the deposit money banks. This survey measures the size and origin of narrow money, which includes currency in circulation (outside banks) and transferable deposits, as well as quasi money liabilities of these institutions, which consists of time, saving, and foreign currency deposits.

Note; Annual flows in LDB are estimated as end of period position this year less end of period position last year, thus, revaluations and other volume changes are included in addition to transactions.

Public sector deposits with the banking system also include sinking funds for the service of debt and temporary deposits of government revenues.

Claims on the central government, net is defined as the central government's direct financial obligations to the country's financial institutions less any claims the central government has on those institutions. These obligations may be in such forms as treasury bills, bonds, and notes; loans and advances to the treasury; or treasury overdrafts on its deposit accounts.
