For each ICP participating country, there is one national implementing agency. For example, the body in charge of national accounts and/or price compilation, or the national statistical coordinating agency. This agency appoints a national ICP Coordinator who takes responsibility for the successful implementation of the ICP in that country. Role of National Coordinators - Ensuring that ICP staff have full understanding of the objectives and standards of the program, and how those objectives affect the collection of the necessary data
- Maintaining contact with the Regional ICP Office and the Regional Coordinator and other countries
- Ensuring that data collection is carried out according to agreed specifications and classifications, spanning agreed time intervals, geographical scope and outlets
- Submitting to the ICP Regional Office the data collected after suitable checking for validity, and submitting documentation in the agreed form and at the right time.
Each national implementing agency will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the ICP Regional Office, which will set out a list of entitlements and obligations. Separate arrangements may be required to manage the transfer and disbursement of funds. Country Reports From time to time, countries in the ICP send the Global Office reports about their experiences. These reports offer unique insights into the program from the viewpoint of the field office. Data from the ICP will be merged with that generated by OECD data collection activities to produce a single agreed global database. Close collaboration between the global ICP and the program in Europe and the OECD is essential to the program’s success, as the global program can take advantage of the long-term experience of OECD and Eurostat countries. To this end, there will be regular consultation between the ICP Global Office, the Technical Advisory Group, and Eurostat/OECD. One senior manager each from OECD and Eurostat will be a member of the ICP Executive Board. To see the list of countries participating in the ICP round, click here. |
