The Marrakech Action Plan for Statistics: Partnership

Implementation of Marrakech Action Plan for Statistics relies on partnership activities. The following constituencies are presented:

• Developing countries – through PARIS21
• Development banks – through Marrakech Declaration
• Donors – through OECD Development Assistance Committee
• Statistical agencies worldwide – through the UN Statistical Commission
• UN agencies – through the Committee for Coordinating Statistical Activities

The World Bank has created a small MAPS unit in the Development Data Group to monitor and coordinate activities.

 

An Advisory Board has been set up to guide MAPS strategy, including the World Bank, and promote coordination. The Advisory Board will meet at least once a year and has at most 18 members. It will produce an annual report to UN Statistical Commission, the Development Assistance Committee of OECD,  and the World Bank's Executive Board. It will support, rather than supplant, existing governance arrangements.
