Development Committee's Legal Framework

In the Annual Meetings of 1974, the Governors of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank created two ministerial committees: the Interim Committee of the IMF to advise on monetary matters, and the Joint Ministerial Committee of the Boards of Governors of the Bank and the Fund on the Transfer of Real Resources to Developing Countries or, as it is commonly referred, the Development Committee.

The Committee's governing documents outline its objectives, structure, composition, responsibilities and procedures. It includes the following documents:

bullet Parallel Resolutions of the Board of Governors of the World Bank and the IMF.

bullet Rules of Procedure.

bullet Organization and Function.
