World Bank Financial Statements

IBRD and IDA prepare financial statements in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America (U.S. GAAP).

The IBRD Information Statement is the primary document issued in support of IBRD's bond offering program and is also available on the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) site at http://www.sec.gov/edgarhp.htm.

Financial Statements by fiscal year:

IBRD receives an external audit opinion on its year end financial statements. In addition, IBRD's quarterly financial statements are reviewed by the external auditors.

IDA does not currently have a bond offering program, and as a result, does not file its financial statements with the SEC. IDA receives an audit opinion on its year end financial statements. IDA's quarterly financial statements are unaudited, and are not reviewed by the external auditors.

Trust Funds

Annually, management asserts on the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting, which is integrated with the audit of the combined financial statements of all modified cash basis trust funds administered by the World Bank Group (collectively referred to as the "Single Audit").

Integrated Reporting as a Catalyst for Long-Term Financial Sustainability

The World Bank Group is in the early stage of implementation of the framework as promulgated by the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC).
